The Story of CacowGirls

We're Tamy and Rachel. Partners in life, in love with each other, with travel, and with the small moments you share with full presence. Our love for cacao grew on the road — and eventually became a daily ritual, a love language, and the foundation of CacowGirls.

CacowGirls didn't start with a business plan. It started with curiosity.

During our travels through South America, we encountered ceremonial cacao for the very first time. Not through a shop or a website — but right at the source. We walked between cacao trees, met the people who work with them, and watched how the fruits are harvested, the beans fermented, and eventually transformed into pure cacao.

We discovered that behind every harvest there's a story. A story of people, nature, patience, and care. That left a deep impression — and it's something we've always wanted to pass on.

What moved us most, perhaps, was the way people took their time over a cup of cacao. Not rushing between appointments, but as a genuine moment of stillness, connection, and presence with each other.

We carried that feeling home with us.

From South America to India

Later, we traveled on to India.

In Goa and Kerala, we discovered cacao again — but this time it felt different. Indian cacao turned out to be softer, warmer, and more approachable in flavor. That's where we realized that the same plant, depending on where it comes from, can have a completely different character.

For Tamy, India also felt like coming home. Her roots are there, and with every visit the connection to the country grew deeper. That's exactly why the cacao from Kerala felt natural and familiar from the very first sip. It's been a cornerstone of our collection ever since.

Today, we bring different worlds together: the cacao stories we discovered in South America, the warmth, herbs, and inspiration from India, and our own grounded, no-nonsense way of living in the Netherlands.

Why CacowGirls?

When we came back home to the Dutch countryside, all the pieces started falling into place.

We're surrounded by meadows where cows graze every single day. During our travels through India, we discovered how deeply meaningful the cow is in that culture. Home and away — those two worlds came together in a way we never expected.

And so CacowGirls was born.

A name that might make you smile — but one that means so much more to us.

Cowgirl Spirit stands for freedom. For adventure. For staying curious and having the courage to follow your own path.

Cacao Soul stands for slowing down. For connection. For living with intention and savoring the small moments.

Our little cacao moment

Those two worlds come together in everything we do. And not just in our work.

Almost every morning, we start our day together with a cup of cacao. We simply call it our cacao moment. Before the day begins, we take a conscious pause — just for each other. No phones. No rush. Just the two of us at the table, a warm mug in our hands, checking in on how we're feeling.

Sometimes we talk for an hour.

Sometimes we barely say a word.

That moment together has become just as important as the cacao itself.

Not because cacao fixes everything — but because it helps us, no matter how busy life gets, to keep consciously choosing each other.

Cacao isn't just a product we sell. It's part of our own lives, and of the way we share love, attention, and quality time with each other.

Sharing cacao with others

Rachel uses our ceremonial cacao during her Rebirthing Breathwork ceremonies. For many participants, a warm cup of cacao marks the opening of the session — a quiet moment to arrive, settle in, and consciously make the transition into connected breath.

Outside of ceremonies, we share cacao with friends, family, and our community. On walks, in good conversations, during shared mornings, or simply around the kitchen table.

Everything you find at CacowGirls comes from what we drink, use, and share with love every single day.

We never sell anything we don't fully stand behind ourselves.

A ritual doesn't have to be complicated

No fixed rules. No elaborate rituals. No big promises.
