Cacao, plant wisdom & tradition
Ayurveda, adaptogens & our Cacao Bars
Our Cacao Bars combine pure Indian cacao with herbs, spices, and mushroom extracts. The inspiration comes from centuries-old plant wisdom, Ayurvedic traditions, and modern functional blends — translated into a warm, simple cacao moment for today.
Ayurveda looks at rhythm, food, seasons, lifestyle, and personal balance. Adaptogens are plants, roots, and mushrooms that have been used for a long time across different herbal traditions. At CacowGirls, we bring those worlds together in cacao — not as a quick fix, but as an invitation to consciously choose what fits your moment.

The basics
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a traditional health system from India. It looks at food, rest, daily routines, seasons, lifestyle, and personal constitution as parts of one whole — not as separate boxes to tick.
Cacao originally comes from Central and South America, so it's not a classic Ayurvedic ingredient. Combining cacao with Ayurvedic herbs is a modern interpretation — and one we find genuinely inspiring.
At CacowGirls, we use that inspiration in a practical way. A warm drink, a moment of intention, choosing what fits your day. No strict rules, no big promises.
Good to know: Ayurveda is a traditional health system. The information on this page is meant as general background and inspiration — it does not replace personal medical advice.
Ayurvedic inspiration
The three doshas: Vata, Pitta & Kapha
In Ayurveda, every person is seen as unique. Rather than one fixed approach for everyone, Ayurveda looks at your personal constitution, your daily rhythm, the season, and what's going on in your life right now.
A well-known Ayurvedic model works with three energy principles, called doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. According to this tradition, everyone carries all three — but one or two are often more present. Your dosha isn't a label or a diagnosis. Think of it as a gentle way to get a little more curious about yourself.
VATA
Movement & creativity
Vata is traditionally connected to movement, change, ideas, and lightness. In Ayurvedic terms, Vata can feel more present during busy periods, lots of travel, irregular routines, or too little rest.
Traditional invitation: lean into warmth, regularity, rest, and nourishing flavours.
PITTA
Fire & drive
Pitta is traditionally connected to fire, focus, transformation, and drive. In Ayurvedic terms, Pitta can feel more present when you're asking a lot of yourself, pushing through, or always "on."
Traditional invitation: make space for slowing down, softness, and cooling moments.
KAPHA
Rest & stability
Kapha is traditionally connected to stability, care, structure, and groundedness. In Ayurvedic terms, Kapha can feel heavier or slower when there's little movement, variety, or fresh inspiration.
Traditional invitation: seek warmth, light movement, fresh inspiration, and herbs with character.
Good to know: doshas come from a traditional Ayurvedic model and are not meant for self-diagnosis or medical treatment. You don't need to know exactly "which type" you are. It's more useful to ask yourself what you need today — more rest, more warmth, more space, or a little more energy.
Plants, roots & mushrooms
What are adaptogens?
Adaptogens is a term often used for certain plants, roots, and mushrooms. You'll find them in traditional herbal systems as well as in modern functional food and drink blends.
Well-known examples include ashwagandha, reishi, lion's mane, cordyceps, and brahmi. Each one has its own origin, flavour, and history of traditional use. Some taste earthy and slightly bitter, others are warming, herby, soft, or aromatic.
In traditional wisdom, these ingredients are rarely looked at in isolation. Context matters: how are you feeling, what season is it, how much rest have you had, and what does your body need right now? That holistic perspective is something we genuinely love — because it invites attention rather than rushing.
At CacowGirls, we combine these ingredients with cacao for their character and flavour. Not to promise a specific outcome, but to give each Cacao Bar its own personality and moment.
Important: the term adaptogen is not an officially recognised health claim under European law. That's why we don't present our Cacao Bars as a treatment, therapy, or solution for complaints. If you have questions about your health, medication, pregnancy, or breastfeeding — always check with a doctor or qualified healthcare provider.
Centuries-old plant wisdom
Nature as inspiration, not a quick fix
People have been using plants, roots, bark, mushrooms, and spices for centuries as part of their daily rituals. In Ayurveda, East Asian traditions, and other herbal systems, the focus isn't just on one ingredient — it's on the bigger picture: food, sleep, movement, season, environment, and the person themselves.
The idea isn't that one ingredient solves everything. What gets attention is the combination of small, repeated habits: a warm drink, a quiet moment, enough sleep, good food, movement, and listening to the signals your body gives you.
That's how we see our Cacao Bars — as a modern translation of that plant wisdom. Pure cacao forms the rich base, while herbs, spices, and mushroom extracts give each blend its own flavour, scent, and character.

- Always check the ingredients of the specific blend you're choosing.
- Start with a smaller amount if you're sensitive to caffeine, cacao, or herbs.
